Sometimes it is hard to always be there for your kids. Both you and your spouse work hard, so it is impossible to be
around our kids all the time, especially after school. That is where the YMCA program comes in to help.
There are a wide variety of programs offered at the YMCA and the Y's Kids after school program is a big one. While
you are working, the licensed staff takes care of and watches over your kids. It can be a tough thing to leave your kids
unsupervised while you are gone, but that is where the Y's Kids program takes over.
Everyday Monday thru Friday from the time your kid gets out of school until 6pm, they will be under watch at Y's Kids.
Almost every school in the surrounding area has some type of after school program that your kids can go to. The sites that
Y's Kids are at are as follows: Coronado, Heusner, Meadowlark, Cottonwood, Schilling, Stewart, Oakdale and Sunset.
There are many activities and constructive things for your kid to do while they are at the Y's Kids program. There
is homework time so the kids can get their work done. There is a new art activity everyday that the kids get to participate
in. There is of course recess time so the kids get to play sports or just run around outside. Also there is snack time right
when the kids get out of school.
Overall, the Y's Kids after school program is a great place to go for kids that would otherwise be unsupervised at
home. Parents can now work until the end of their shift knowing that their kids are under supervised care and are learning
new things in the process.
To enroll in the Y's Kids after school program just go to the Salina YMCA and sign-up. An enrollment fee of $15 is
required and a weekly fee of $36.00 must be paid in advance each week of school. The YMCA also provides a full-day program
during breaks in school for an additional fee of $21.00 per day.
